New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has drawn criticism from many across the sports landscape following comments he made in response to a question about NFL players protesting during the national anthem.

Brees, in an interview with Yahoo Finance’s Daniel Roberts, was asked about Former San Francisco 49ers' quarterback Colin Kaepernick peacefully protesting police brutality by taking a knee as the anthem played before games in 2016.

"I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country," Brees said during the interview.

Following the statement from Breers, former Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins, was emotional, and reacted with disappointment and anger.

Drew Brees, if you don't understand how hurtful, how insensitive your comments are, you are part of the problem.
