Ventnor resident and 1990 Holy Spirit graduate Greg Roman has resurfaced as part of the New York Giants new staff with John Harbaugh.

A Local Legend Lands in the NFC East

Roman, who was the Los Angeles Chargers' offensive coordinator under John's brother Jim last season, will now be a Senior Offensive Assistant and Offensive run game coordinator with the Giants, meaning he will be in the NFC East.

He joins a staff that has multiple former head coaches, including new offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and new quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan.  In addition to Roman, new tight ends coach Tim Kelly was also an offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans in 2023 and the Houston Texans from 2014 to 2021, giving the Giants a very experienced coaching staff.

Roman has been a coordinator in multiple stops during his NFL coaching career, starting with the 49ers from 2011-14, Buffalo (2015-16), Ravens (2019-2022), and after sitting out the 2023 season, Roman returned to the NFL with the Chargers for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Reunited in Blue: Roman and Harbaugh Join Forces Again

He was named the assistant coach of the year in 2018 for his work with the Baltimore Ravens when he worked under John Harbaugh.

From Holy Spirit to the Pros: A Jersey Homecoming

He spent the 2008 season back in Absecon as the offensive coordinator for the Holy Spirit Spartans, winning a State title, before joining Jim Harbaugh at Stanford.

Now friends and family will be able to take a short drive up the Garden State Parkway to MetLife Stadium and the Atlantic City Expressway when the Giants play in Philadelphia to see Roman coach.

Roman isn't the only South Jersey resident to have coached in the NFL
