Camden, NJ’s Haason Reddick Heading to Super Bowl 57 with the Philadelphia Eagles
Another South Jersey athlete is Super Bowl bound! Congratulations to Philadelphia Eagle Haason Reddick!
The 28-year-old linebacker is headed to Arizona with his fellow birds to play in the NFL's biggest game of the season. One that will hopefully see the Vince Lombardi trophy coming back to Philly.
Reddick is originally from Camden, but later moved to Pennsauken and went to Haddon Heights High School.
He stayed local for college and played as a walk-on for Temple University, something the Philadelphia Eagles call a true 'underdog' story. His mom reportedly took out a loan just to buy Haason a meal plan at Temple so he could eat alongside his teammates.
Reddick was a first round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals back in 2017 before going on to play one season with the Carolina Panthers, but 'Haas' says one of his favorite sports moments was signing with the Eagles, where in 2022 he helped lead the team's defense to the 2nd highest number of sacks in the NFL.
So, no offense to Patrick Mahomes, but if I were him, I wouldn't want to get in Haason Reddick's way on Super Bowl Sunday. Reddick's also a fumble forcer.
And while Reddick's tough on the football field, he's very active in the community, even donating $15,000 worth of toys to 200 families in Camden in 2021.
On February 12th at Super Bowl LVII, Reddick will face off against Isiah Pacheco, a Vineland native with the Kansas City Chiefs.
