Hammonton, NJ, Native J.D. DiRenzo Working Out with Patriots
Former St. Joe's Wildcat J.D DiRenzo is in New England to work out with the Patriots, according to veteran NFL reporter Aaron Wilson of KPRC in Houston.
DiRenzo, a Hammonton native, was a member of three St. Joe championship runs in 2013, 2014, and 2015, earning third-team all-state honors, first-team all-conference, and All-South Jersey as a senior. He went on to play first at Sacred Heart and then Rutgers collegiately.
He went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft but signed with the Carolina Panthers where he was a member of their practice squad, before getting elevated to the active roster in Week 15, playing seven snaps as a rookie.
If he is signed by New England, he would join a young team that is struggling in the early portion of the NFL season, and is looking for some offensive line depth.
DiRenzo worked out with the Pittsburgh Steelers back on Sept 30 but did not sign with the team.
Teams like DiRenzo's versatility, with the ability to play both guard and tackle.
