The rivalry between Boston and Philly heats up in a big way this weekend featuring a showdown between Beantown versus the City of Brotherly Love.  It's Ben Franklin versus John Adams, Wilt Chamberlain versus Bill Russell, Bobby Clarke versus Phil Esposito, Julius Erving versus Larry Bird, this rivalry has deep roots!  This weekend there is no love lost between the sports fans in these two cities that played a major part in the history of the United States of America! 

The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers are tied 1-1 in the 2023 NBA Playoffs, with Games three and Four being hosted in Philadelphia Friday Night and Sunday Afternoon.  The Boston Red Sox face the Phillies in a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park.  Boston is a proud sports town and winner of 39 Championships in their four major sports teams.  The Eagles and Patriots split Super Bowl victories in their two matchups while the Red Sox have four World Series rings since 2004.  What's worse for Philadelphia sports fans is the Celtics have won 14 of the last 21 postseason playoff series against the Sixers.  The Sixers and Phillies have a busy weekend ahead of them as their fans will be out in full force to support their teams.

With so much going on in the NBA Playoffs plus the Eagles news from the NFL Draft and Bryce Harper's return for the Phillies, it's easy for some people to forget that another major sporting event that takes place this weekend: The running of the 149th Kentucky Derby!  Post time for the Run for the Roses is scheduled for 6:57 pm this Saturday, May 6th - What a weekend in Sports and The Locker Room with Billy Schweim will have it all covered.
