The honors continue for prospects in the Phillies system.  On Thursday, Minor League Baseball released the rosters for the 2017 MLB Futures Game.  The Futures Game is an All-Star event that takes place prior to the MLB All-Star Game each season, showcasing some of the top talent throughout the minor leagues.   The Phillies will be represented with two players.

The event has two teams: Team USA (native-born American players) and World (players born outside of the United States).  Neither roster is limited to any particular league or level.  First baseman Rhys Hoskins and second baseman Scott Kingery will both be on the Team USA roster.   The World roster, however, has no Phillies players.

The game will take place on July 9th at Marlins Stadium in Miami.  Two former Marlins players will serve as managers: former catcher Charles Johnson will manage Team USA and former shortstop Edgar Renteria will manage Team World.  Both players were members of the 1997 World Champion Florida Marlins team.
