This Giving Tuesday I let listeners to my radio show suggest on Facebook South Jersey charities that are worthy of a donation and certainly deserving of our attention.

What a refreshing and enlightening experience reading about these charities, some of which I wasn't even familiar and seeing the passion and love the people commenting had for the charities they were suggesting!

It turns out that South Jersey is a very charitable place to live and I love that.

Here are five charities I picked from that very long list to show the diversity of ideas and charities our listeners are involved with. Please consider giving one of these charities or your favorite charity a donation today if you can afford to.

1- Reed's Farm & Animal Sanctuary in EHT

Robin suggested "Reed's Farm & Animal Sanctuary which provides opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities, and partners with area schools as well.

Hearts Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc provides horseback riding for individuals with special needs. Horseback Riding provides physical and emotional benefits for the riders"

2- NO1hungryinehc in Egg Harbor City

Nadina told us about "NO1hungryinehc.... Angela Seri Krukauskas…. Has helped local families & organizations, with food, clothing, and literally anything people are in need of."

3- Animal Network Association in Galloway

Alison suggested "The Animal Network Association aka Janes Animal Network is an all-volunteer animal rescue located In Galloway. Jane and her volunteers work tirelessly in Atlantic County rescuing abandoned cats and kittens. They either TNVR or alter, vaccinate, and foster until good homes can be found. There are also colonies fed and cared for every day. There is a crisis in our County and no government funding is available for animal rescue. Donations are crucial to continue this life-saving work."

4- Lunch With Lynch in Wildwood

Mary brought Lunch with Lynch to our attention "Lunch with LynchJohn Lynch does so much all year long to support our local families and children!" John Lynch is quoted as saying 'Our number one mission at the Lunch with Lynch Foundation is to inspire kindness to the children in and around the Wildwoods".

5- Built With Love in EHT

Amanda told us about "Built with Love is special because they help kids all over and in our community in schools by raising money and keeping the memory alive of a sweet boy named Drake who was bullied and died by suicide. They give supplies to school kids and set up programs to keep them informed on how to stop bullying and how to help young kids suffering with mental health issues.
