Jalen Carter Out, Key Players Limited on Eagles Thursday Injury Report
The Philadelphia Eagles' injury report on Thursday had some key names appear on the list. The team took the practice field without defensive tackle Jalen Carter, who has already been announced out for the game on Monday Night against the Chargers.
The Eagles, who head to Los Angeles to face the Chargers this week, listed Carter as a nonparticipant due to lingering shoulder issues that have plagued him all season. He is considered week-to-week after undergoing procedures on both shoulders on Monday.
Fangio told reporters on Wednesday that Carter has a “shoulder issue.”
“He does have a shoulder issue. " Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said on Wednesday. He has been playing with it. Late in the game, he had a great play with it, but it's definitely something there.”
Here is what Dr. David Chao, former Chargers team doctor, known as @ProFootballDoc on the Twitter/X platform, had to say about the injury.

Other Key Names on the Eagles Injury Report
While Carter's absence is the most notable, the report also detailed the status of several other starters and rotational players on the list on Thursday, including linebacker Zack Bayun, who is dealing with a hand injury; linebacker Jaelan Phillips is dealing with a concussion, and wide receiver Jahan Dotson has a toe injury. All three, along with return specialist Xavier Gipson (shoulder) were listed as limited participants.
Safety Marcus Epps and Offensive lineman Myles Hinton were both full participants on Thursday.
There is a good chance we see Epps on the field with the starting defense on Monday Night in place of Andrew Mukuba, who is likely done for the rest of the regular season.
"He's an experienced safety," Fangio said about Epps. He's got good instincts, got good feel for the game. We'll have to get a feel and a barometer about where he is at, missing the last four or five weeks, whatever it was, where he couldn't practice anyway."
He could replace Sydney Brown, who struggled in the game last week against Chicago.
"It was a lot like the rest of us. Some good, some bad," Fangio said when asked about his evaluation of Brown's performance.
With Carter already out, the Eagles can use all the help they can get on defense after giving up 898 total yards over their last two games.
