Jerad Eickhoff Will Make Major League Debut on Friday
The Phillies youth movement continues.
The team will promote pitching prospect Jerad Eickhoff, who was acquired as part of the Cole Hamels deal, will be promoted and make his major league debut on Friday against the Marlins.
They need to fill the fifth spot in their rotation following the demotion of David Buchanan. Eickhoff, 25, has a 3.85 ERA and 126/39 K/BB ratio over 133 1/3 innings in the minors this season.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound right-hander projects as a possible fifth starter in the big leagues, he'll get his first chance to show he can fill that role tomorrow.
