
Phillies Catcher J.T. Realmuto Exits Game with Foot Injury
Philadelphia Phillies catcher JT Realmuto exited Tuesday’s game against the San Francisco Giants with a bruised right foot.
Injury Details: J.T. Realmuto Leaves Early
Realmuto took a foul ball off his right foot in the second inning and was removed from the game. Rafael Marchan pinch-hit for Realmuto in the top of the second and stayed in the game to catch.
Realmuto has picked things up offensively after a slow start, with five hits in his last 13 at-bats. The 35-year-old signed a three-year, $45 million deal with Philadelphia this offseason to provide quality defense and veteran leadership.
So far, he is hitting .240 with one home run, one RBI, and a .406 on-base percentage this season.
Compounding Injuries: The Alec Bohm Factor
Philadelphia is already missing third baseman Alec Bohm with groin tightness on Tuesday night. Edmundo Sosa is starting at third base in his place, and Adolis Garcia is hitting in Bohm's No. 4 spot in the order.
