The day has come: The Phillies will make their pitch to free agent infielder Manny Machado.  Machado knows the Phillies front office pretty well.  Phillies president Andy MacPhail was president of baseball operations for the Baltimore Orioles when Machado was drafted by the club in the first round.  Phillies general manager Matt Klentak was director of baseball operations at the time.

The construction worker also said, "Do the right thing and sign!" Meanwhile, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com caught a picture of the Phillies scoreboard:

But will the Phillies win the sales pitch?

Last night, Jon Heyman of Fancred sports reported that there was "no mystery team" in on Machado.  That means the three teams competing to sign Machado are the Phillies, the Chicago White Sox, and the New York Yankees.  Machado visited Chicago on Tuesday and New York yesterday.

So after today all three teams will have made their sales pitch to Machado.  Will Machado go to the biggest bidder?  Will one team leave an impression that Machado will prioritize over money?  We should know soon.
