Margate, NJ, Downbeach Deli addresses rumors about closing

A longtime Margate deli wants you to know they are not closing.

The Downbeach Deli, which is located at 8 South Essex Avenue in Margate, posted on its social media page that rumors of their closing in September are not true.

There is a rumor going around that Downbeach Deli is closing in September. THIS IS NOT TRUE. If you are a fan of the deli or haven't been there, it's not going anywhere.

While I haven't heard the rumor, I grew up in Margate and have dined at the Downbeach Deli many times and would hate to see such an iconic spot close its doors.

There was a rumor back in April of 2022 that the business was for sale, but it was addressed by the deli that it was the building, not the deli that was for sale.

Tacocat, which was in the same building at 8 South Essex Ave in Margate recently closed its doors, but it's former neighbors aren't going anywhere.
