Margate has a new place to start your mornings!

The Return of a Margate Tradition: From Junior's to Sonny's

If you are a Margate native, you might remember Junior's on Amherst Avenue.

From the Goldberg family that brought you the tasty donuts from Junior, they are now opening Sonny’s House of Donuts at 7811 Ventnor Ave, near Hot Bagel and Bocca.

Sonny's adds to a new look north end of Margate with Jersey Cow opening last week and more new spots at the end of town.

After months of teasing their return, Sonny's House of Donuts opened on Wednesday morning, serving fresh donuts and hot LaColombe coffee.

For those who remember Junior's, which opened on the bay in Margate back in 2002 and spent 15 years making donuts fresh daily, serving the Margate community each summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The family sold the business in 2015, but announced a return to the island with the same recipes that people will remember from the days at Junior's, including their famous coconut donuts.

What’s on the Menu at Sonny's House of Donuts?

They have all sorts of unique donut offerings that they have been releasing leading up to their opening day, like Lemon Poppy, Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Cream, and Boston Cream, to name a few.

The full menu is here.

They are now open every day from 6:30 am to noon
