Through the eyes of most fans, preseason football is simply a burdensome right of passage to get to the real action.

While most games are easily forgettable when the regular season rolls around, there have been some notable moments for the Eagles the last decade in August.

Here is a refresher on those moments.

Michael Vick returns to the NFL in 2009

Leading an illegal dog-fighting ring took the most electric player in football off the field for two seasons as he served 18 months behind bars.

Signing with the Eagles after the NFL reinstated Vick in 2009, his first action in the preseason opener against Jacksonville is still a memorable moment.

To the surprise of many, he received a large portion of cheers.

Vick supplies a huge hit on Troy Polamalu

Heading into a make or break 2012 season, the Eagles were feeling the pressure of redeeming the failed "dream team" season of 2011.

In Week 1 of the preseason, things didn't get off to a hot start against Pittsburgh. The result of Vick and the offense's frustrations created one of the biggest hits a QB has ever delivered.

Chip Kelly's offense makes its NFL debut

The start of Philadelphia's 2013 season might be one of the most anticipated in the franchise's history.

First-year Head Coach Chip Kelly brought his fast-paced Oregon offense to the NFL and the league got to get a quick glimpse against Carolina.

Kelly didn't truly go full gear with the temp until the start of the regular season but this visit to Carolina had many wondering if the Eagles were about to change the NFL forever.

New-look Eagles offense explodes on Green Bay in 2015

The 2015 offseason will go down as one of the most chaotic in franchise history as Chip Kelly rebuilt his offense with a brand new QB, brand new running backs, and receivers.

That offense garnered national attention after the season tune-up in Green Bay.

QB Sam Bradford went 10/10 121 YDS 3 TDS 0 INT, playing so well that many members of the media picked the Eagles to win it all. Or come very close.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter predicted the Eagles win Super Bowl 50 with Bradford taking home Super Bowl MVP.

Carson Wentz takes the field for the first time at Lincoln Financial Field

A lot of excitement surrounded the "dream team" and Chip Kelly's overhauled 2015 roster, but even those debuts couldn't compare to the hope and promise the fanbase felt when Carson Wentz made his first appearance in midnight green.

This time, it was justified.

The 2nd overall pick in 2016 made multiple splash plays against the Buccanneers, hinting at what was to come shortly after.
