Millville, NJ native Mike Trout added another accomplishment to his long list in 2012 when he was named cover athlete on this week's issue of Sports Illustrated.

Trout made his MLB debut in July of last season when he was just 19 years of age, but 2012 is still considered his rookie season because of MLB rules.

A year later Trout is through 100 games and has an A.L. All-Star Game under his belt and Tuesday night he played his first game in Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox.

Trout is looking to win both an American League MVP award to go along with an almost guaranteed AL Rookie of the Year award, a feat that has been accomplished only twice all-time.

What's more impressive than that is the type of season he's having compared to other all-time great players.

Is this a foreshadowing to what people from South Jersey can expect?

Time will tell.
