The former Thunderbolt star missed the entire 2020 season, dealing with the effects of COVID-19.  Armstead last played in the NFL during the 2019 season, rushing for 198 yards and catching 14 balls for 144 yards and two touchdowns

Armstead was a fifth-round pick, who played his college call at nearby Temple University. He ran for a school-record 337 yards in a game as a senior at Millville and rushed for 1,488 yards and 18 touchdowns that season.

The Jags have undrafted rookie James Robinson at the top of the depth cahrt, after running for 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns, and catch 49 passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns and then drafted former Clemson running back Travis Etienne 25th overall last month, making Armstead expendable.
