Which roads are the most dangerous in the Garden State?

There are plenty of places we have driven that can be a little dangerous, and a new study has the data on which roads in New Jersey are the most dangerous. In the state of New Jersey, there have been 2954 crashes. Here is a look at the most dangerous spots. 

A study by iSelect compiled its list of the most dangerous roads in each state by analyzing the average number of fatalities that occur annually on each highway.

  • State highways: 35%
  • U.S. highways: 26%
  • Interstates: 17%
  • Local streets: 22%

Where Fatal Crashes Happen Nationwide

  • State highways: 42%
  • U.S. highways: 23%
  • Interstates: 18%
  • Local streets: 17%

South Jersey Spotlight: Hazards on Route 9 and US-30

A couple of these roads are down here in South Jersey, like Route 9, which goes from North Cape May north to Toms River in Ocean County.  U.S. Route 30 is a U.S. highway running from Philadelphia and is a major hub through areas like Hammonton, Egg Harbor City, Galloway, and Absecon before reaching Atlantic City.
