Even though the Philadelphia Phillies are tied for the fourth-most wins in the National League coming out of the MLB All-Star Break, they are only a half game ahead of the New York Mets in the NL East Standings.

The Phillies have one of the best starting rotations in Major League Baseball with Zack Wheeler, Cristopher Sanchez, and Ranger Suarez ranked top ten in ERA and WHIP. Philadelphia also has the 2025 MLB All-Star Game MVP Award Winner, Kyle Schwarber, who is having a great season overall.

But the Phillies' Offense has the third-most Runners Left on Base in Major League Baseball (696), as their offense has been very inconsistent this season. Also, their bullpen has the fourth-worst Batting Average Against (.256) in the National League, and with Jose Alvarado suspended, they lack reliable depth among their relief pitchers.

With the MLB Trade Deadline coming up on July 31st, we are taking a closer look at the Phillies' best trade assets and which players could be moved to improve Philadelphia's chances of making a World Series run this October.

Who Are The Phillies' Best Assets For 2025 MLB Trade Deadline?

This list of tradable players is based on the following criteria:

-Players who have been named in multiple reports at The Athletic, ESPN.com, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, and MLB Network
-Players who are highly regarded or highly rated Prospects based on MLB Pipeline, The Athletic, and ESPN.com
-Players who do not have cost-prohibitive contracts or who would be unappealing to other organizations because of financial and age constraints

An example of a player that is not on this list below is Phillies Top Prospect and the MLB Pipeline Number Nine Overall prospect Andrew Painter.  The Athletic's Matt Gelb has reported that Painter is not someone Philadelphia is willing to trade, and teams have been told "no" when asking about the Right-Handed Pitcher.

We have ranked the players on this list based on a combined perceived "Value" to the Phillies and other MLB organizations:

1. Aiden Miller, Shortstop, 21 years old
Currently played at Double-A Reading, Miller has been labeled the "Best Hitting Phillies Prospect since Mike Schmidt". Many MLB Insiders and Baseball Analysts see Miller as a player who could be starting at the MLB level as soon as next season.

Miller is the type of elite prospect that could force the Phillies to go to current Shortstop Trea Turner and ask him to change positions. So the only scenario where Philadelphia would trade such an elite prospect is for another high-level player in return, like A's Closer Mason Miller.

Philadelphia Phillies Justin Crawford

2. Justin Crawford, Outfielder, 21 years old
The second-best hitting prospect in the Phillies organization is also the son of former MLB Outfielder Carl Crawford. Justin has all the physical tools to be a starting Centerfielder in the major leagues, and he is only 21 years old.

Philadelphia does not have to trade Crawford, and they may consider calling him up if they don't get an Outfield Upgrade at the Trade Deadline. But could be a key player that would be appealing to a team that is rebuilding and would be a valuable player to add to many organizations.

Philadelphia Phillies Mick Abel

3. Mick Abel, Pitcher, 23 years old
While his last two outings were rough and led to him being demoted, the 15th overall selection in the 2020 MLB Draft has shown the promise that made him a Top Prospect in Major League Baseball.

Mick Abel's first four MLB Starts, he had a 2.21 ERA. A young pitcher who is still a few years away from his prime, who is under team control, has appeal to many teams. But the Phillies do not want to trade Abel for a rental (player who will be a free agent after this season); So that narrows the market for who Philadelphia would trade their fifth overall prospect in their farm system.

4. Eduardo Tait, Catcher, 18 years old
Ranked the 60th Best Prospect by MLB Pipeline, the Left-Handed Hitting Phillies Catcher is considered a rising star in the Minor Leagues. Currently playing at Single-A Clearwater, Eduardo Tait is still a few years away from being ready to come up to the Major Leagues.

The Phillies' number four overall prospect would be an intriguing trade piece for a team that needs more talent in their Minor League System. Since Tait would not be ready to help the Phillies' big league club anytime soon, trading him would not hurt their future.

5. Aroon Escobar, Second Base, 20 years old
An undrafted free agent signed during the 2022 International Signing Period, this Venezuelan Infielder has become a hot prospect in 2025. His hot bat in Clearwater got him promoted to Jesery Shore at the A+ Level on the Minor Leagues, and overall he has 11 Home Runs and 48 RBI in 77 games played.

The Phillies organization has a plethora of Infield prospects, and unless they decide to trade an Aiden Miller or Bryson Stott or Gabriel Rincones, there is no clear path to the majors in Aroon Escobar's future. Philadelphia could trade him if they still believe the other prospects will be more help for the team in the near future.

6. Alex MacFarlane, Pitcher, 24 years old
After returning from Tommy John Surgery, the 18th overall prospect in the Phillies organization has caught the attention of many scouts in 2025. While his control has been erratic at times, the life on his fastball is gaining interest from many around Major League Baseball.

There are differing opinions about whether Alex MacFarlane's future is as a Starter or Relief Pitcher at the big league level. The wide range of opinions about the Phillies' prospect could create many interesting conversations ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline.

Philadelphia Phillies Bryson Stott

7. Bryson Stott, Infielder, 27 years old
The 14th overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, the former Shortstop moved to Second Base when the Phillies signed Trea Turner a couple years ago. But Bryson Stott has regressed as a hitter the last two seasons.

Stott told the media before the 2025 season that he sustained an Elbow Injury last year that negatively impacted his swing. There are reports he re-aggravated in this season, and that could be the reason for his regression. But the Phillies need more depth in their lineup, and Stott is still young enough that other teams could be interested in acquiring him.

Philadelphia Phillies Brandon Marsh

8. Brandon Marsh, Outfielder, 27 years old
When the Phillies acquired him at the 2022 MLB Trade Deadline, the idea was that he would be a better defensive player and have good upside as a hitter. Brandon Marsh has been a solid hitter at the bottom half of the Phillies lineup with back-to-back 60 RBI seasons in 2023 and 2024.

But his defense has been problematic as a Centerfielder the last two years. There does not appear to be any more potential for more growth in the skills of the 2nd round pick in the 2016 MLB Draft. Marsh is under team control through the 2027 season, so he could be a Replacement Player for a team that could trade Philadelphia an outfielder.

9. Moises Chance, Pitcher, 22 years old
Acquired by Philadelphia in the trade that sent Gregory Soto to the Baltimore Orioles, the young Venezuelan Pitcher has displayed a refined array of pitches and has established himself as a Starting Pitching Prospect.

After the Phillies drafted nine pitchers in the first 10 rounds of the 2025 MLB Draft. The reloading of their farm system with young pitching talent could make Moises Chance expendable at the MLB Trade Deadline. He is ranked as the Phillies' 7th Best Prospect according to MLB Pipeline.

10. Alec Bohm, Third Base, 28 years old
The 2024 All-Star Selection has been the subject of trade rumors and speculation over the last couple of years. The third overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, Alec Bohm has developed into a good Third Baseman who has a reliable glove and has back-to-back 97 RBI seasons.

I purposely put Alec Bohm at the bottom of this list because while I would not trade the Third Baseman, I understand he has real value to other MLB Teams. Even though Bohm is currently on the Injured List, 10 days from now is the MLB Trade Deadline.  Several teams around baseball need upgrades at Third Base; If Philadelphia can get the Relief Pitchers they need, along with an upgrade for their lineup, Bohm could become expendable.

If the Phillies were to trade Bohm or Stott, what do Philadelphia Sports Fans do with their jerseys? They are on the top 20 list of best-selling Phillies Jerseys in 2025:
