NJSIAA Basketball Tournament Cancelled

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) has just announced that its basketball season is over - no more games will be played.

There had been a Press of Atlantic City report that the NJSIAA public school finals would be played at Boardwalk Hall this Sunday, while the non-public finals would be played at the RWJBarnabas Health Arena  in Toms River.

Atlantic City, Wildwood Catholic and St. Augustine were all still alive in the boys tournament, while the Ocean City girls played and won against Westhampton Tech in a state semifinal on Wednesday night in a empty gym in Deptford.

Some reaction from local players in the area include Wildwood Catholic senior Taj Thweatt, who is heading to West Virginia next year.
