Philadelphia Fishing Show This Weekend
From acorns to mighty oaks (pun intended) describes the fifth annual Philadelphia Fishing Show that runs from Friday, February 16 through Sunday, February 18 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
Now at 140 exhibitors strong commanding an impressive 70,000-square feet of floor space, this expo is an amalgam of all that is freshwater and saltwater fishing for the northeast and mid-Atlantic regions, from the newest rods, reels, lines, lures and assorted terminal tackle, to the latest in marine electronics, accessories and fishing apparel.
Across-the-board deals galore, for sure.

Also exhibiting will be lodges, guides, outfitters, and party and charter boats to book a daily or extended fishing trip or, if so inclined, an exotic angling bucket list excursion to Costa Rica via the FishingNosara exhibit (booths 111-115). At the latter spread you will have the opportunity to meet and hobnob with the engaging and totally cool Capt. Dave Marciano of Wicked Tuna fame.
It’s a brain-busting around the show clock free seminar schedule with the best in the rod bending business. Indeed, from river and lake, to back bay to surf to inshore to mid shore to offshore, the how to, where to and when to go is covered.
Attractions include the mettle-testing Fish4Real fishing simulator, the 5,000 gallon hawg trough packed with northeast gamefish and panfish (semiars give here), and the wildly popular family-oriented Trout Fishing Pond for fun catch-and-release fishing.
Show hours are noon to 7pm Friday; 10am-6pm Saturday, and 10am-5pm Sunday. Admission is $12 adult, $6 youngsters 6-12, those under 6 free. Tickets available at the door, and it’s a cash only dealio. Three ATMs are on site.
