The Phillies are in need of a centerfielder and one they have their eye on is Pittsburgh's Bryan Reynolds, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

Reynolds is drawing "significant interest" on the trade market, per Jon Morosi, after having an All-Star season for the Pirates, hitting .302 with 24 home runs and 90 RBI over 159 games in 2021.

Reynolds had 169 hits in 2021, is a switch-hitter, and plays a tremendous centerfield, he would be a perfect piece for the Phillies, if they can put together a package for Pittsburgh.  Finding enough to deal Pittsburgh will be tough considering the state of the Phillies minor league system and the fact that there is interest from other teams, like the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners, who have more to offer.

The 26-year-old Reynolds is under team control through 2025, but the Pirates are willing to listen to offers, but reports suggests their asking price were "astronomical" per Heyman.

Reynolds would be a massive upgrade to Odeubel Herrera, who refused an outright minor-league assignment after being removed from the Phillies' 40-man roster last week. Herrera did have a fine season after missing a more than a full year from playing, hitting .260/ with 13 home runs, 51 RBI, 59 runs scored and six stolen bases last season.
