As the Philadelphia Phillies continue their Grapefruit League slate in Florida, we are starting to see more signs that Trea Turner will be moving to the leadoff spot in 2025.

While appearing on a Philadelphia radio station, Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that if Turner hits leadoff, Bryce Harper would hit No. 2 in the lineup.

On Thursday, we got our first look at what the Opening Day lineup in Washington on March 27 might look like.

With Turner leading off, Harper hitting No. 2, Alec Bohm in the key No. 3 spot, followed by lefty power hitter Kyle Schwarber at No. 4, the team could go with Nick Castellanos, Max Kepler, J.T. Realmuto, Bryson Stott, and whoever is in center field batting ninth.

Today's lineup is the exact lineup I wrote about back on Feb.10th when I was previewing Phillies Spring training.

This configuration gives the Phillies right/left balance throughout the lineup, with Turner setting the table at the top.  Turner hit leadoff for the 2019 World Series champion Nationals and seems excited about the potential of hitting there again in 2025.

Turner has hit leadoff plenty during his 10-year career, hitting .302 with 69 home runs, 224 RBI, 156 stolen bases, and a .351 on-base-precentage in the No. 1 spot in the order.

One of the keys to this lineup will be Bohm, who is hitting .214 with two home runs in five spring games this season.  If he can provide the protection for Harper in the No. 3 spot, and with Schwarber hitting behind him, the Phillies lineup may be able to produce more runs in 2025.
