Phillies Acquire Pitcher Erich Uelmen from Cubs for Cash Considerations
The Philadelphia Phillies acquired relief pitcher Erich Uelmen from the Chicago Cubs for cash considerations on Wednesday.
RHP Vinny Nittoli has been designated for assignment as a corresponding move.
Uelmen made his major league debut in 2022, going 2-1 with a save, a 4.67 ERA and 1.37 WHIP over 27 innings in 25 appearances for the Cubs.

The 26-year old right-hander gives the Phillies more organizational depth and competition for innings in the Phillies bullpen.
He was designated for assignment by the Cubs about a week ago after being a fourth-round pick of the Cubs in 2017.
He has a shot to make a Phillies bullpen that currently includes: Seranthony Domiguez, Cragi Kimbrel, José Alvarado. Connor Brogdon, Nick Nelson, Andrew Bellatti, Luis Ortiz, Andrew Vasquez, Sam Coonrod and Matt Strahm.
Consider Uelmen a long shot to make the Phillies roster out of Spring Training, but more as a possible call-up with major league experience, if injuries start to month up during the season.
