On Saturday the Phillies announced that they have acquired Infielder/Outfielder Ty Kelly from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations.  To make room for Kelly on the Phillies' 40-man roster, the team has placed Clay Buchholz on the 60-day DL.

Kelly, who was drafted in the 13th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles, appeared in 39 games for the New York Mets in 2016 and was on their postseason roster.  Last season he played at all three Outfield positions for the Mets along with both corner Infield Positions and Second Base.  Kelly has a career Batting Average of .237 with One Home Run and Seven RBI in 72 Plate Appearances.
