"I'm pretty excited, they asked me, I'm not going to say no," Bohm said. "The guy isn't throwing 98 (mph), so I figured what the heck, lets see how many we can hit."

Bohm has 11 home runs this season and isn't know for his home run power, but has the kind of swing that can produce a lot of home runs if he gets into a groove. While Bohm isn't thought of for his home run power, he is becoming one of the best run producers in MLB, he currently is tied for fourth in the majors with 70 RBI.
Alonso won the event in 2019 and in 2021 and has the most home runs hit in Home Run Derby history with 195.
You can listen to Alec Bohm compete in the MLB Home Run Derby on Monday at 7pm on 97.3 ESPN.
