While the Philadelphia Phillies will be down in Atlanta on Tuesday, outfielder Austin Hays will be with Lehigh Valley to begin a rehab assignment.

Hays has been stuck on the 10-day injured list since April 8 with a left hamstring strain.

Hays was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for Seranthony Dominguez and Christian Pache back on July 26.

In 10 games since coming to Philadelphia, Hays is hitting .263 with one home run and four RBI playing left field for the Phillies.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson said it’s possible that Hays could rejoin the team for the weekend series in Kansas City, but it might even be sooner if all goes well tonight for Lehigh Valley.
