Phillies In Atlanta While South Jersey Celebrates Memorial Day

The Phillies enter Memorial Day Weekend in a similar purgatory they were in last season, playing inconsistent baseball with a roster of talent that is underachieving.  This weekend they are in Atlanta to face off with the National League East-leading Braves for the first time this season.  The Braves have one of the best pitching staffs in the NL and they are also second in the National League in Home Runs.  The Phillies, who lost game one against the Braves on Thursday Night, are hoping to get some wins on the road as they are in the midst of playing seven games in eight days against their division rivals, the Braves, and New York Mets.

The Jersey Shore is always a destination for many people each year and Memorial Day Weekend is the start of the Summer Season for the locals who are ready for another great season in South Jersey!  The Locker Room with Billy Schweim will continue the decade-plus tradition of our weekly Beach Patrol Report and this weekend we will visit with Surfer Ben Gravy who has made a name for himself on Youtube surfing all around the country. 

On Saturday’s show, Mike Carlin joins me in the studio as we recap the first two Phillies/ Braves games of their four-game series.  The Sixers head coach search continues and we will look at who are the best candidates for the job.  In Hour Two, it’s the Beach Patrol Report brought to you by McCann Realtors of Sea Isle City and the OCBP Lifeguard Alumni Association.  The President of the OCBP Lifeguard Alumni Association Jack Brooks joins me in the studio as we get you up to date with everything you need to know on this big weekend with so many people heading to the Jersey Shore.  This week we will also hear from the Chief of the Brigantine Beach Patrol Kip Emig.  Chief Emig will tell us about all the upcoming Lifeguard and beach events in Brigantine. 

On Sunday’s Show, Producer Danny Ryan is in the studio with me as we talk about the weekend in sports.  Every Sunday we go “On the Mound” with former Phillies pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by the John R Elliott Campaign for Designated Drivers.  Tommy reviews the Phillies' rollercoaster week and previews Sunday’s finale with the Braves on Sunday Night Baseball.  In Hour Two we have a special guest stop by the studio: Local surfing sensation Ben Gravy.  Ben has a unique story and has a huge following on YouTube.  The Philadelphia Inquirer had a feature on Ben recently and we will follow up on his story this Memorial Day Weekend.
