Phillies Lineup: Bats Look to Stay Hot vs Cubs
The Philadelphia Phillies' bats came alive on Monday night against the Chicago Cubs, scoring runs in six different innings in a 13-7 win.
Scouting Riley Martin and Collin Rea
The Cubs did make a small change, deciding to use an opener, Riley Martin, a lefty, instead of the original starter Collin Rea, who is expected to enter in relief. The 35-year-old Rea, who started on Wednesday against Tampa Bay, allowed just one run over five innings in a win over the Rays.
Lineup Adjustments: Sosa Steps in for Bohm
On Tuesday, they made one slight change to the lineup with Edmundo Sosa replacing Alec Bohm at third base. Sosa is 1 for 4 against Colin Rea, while Bohm is 1 for 11.
Here is the lineup the Phillies will use today against the Cubs in Game 2 of the series.
1. Turner 6
2. Schwarber DH
3. Harper 3
4. García 9
5. Marsh 7
6. Realmuto 2
7. Stott 4
8. Sosa 5
9. Crawford 8
Can Nola Build on His San Francisco Start?
The Phillies will counter with righty Aaron Nola, who is coming off a solid outing in San Francisco, allowing five hits and three runs with three strikeouts across six innings on Wednesday.
So far this season, Nola is 1-1 with a 3.63 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP in 17.1 innings pitched.
The Phillies made one change in the bullpen before tonight's game against the Cubs, recalling right-handed pitcher Chase Shugart from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. To make room on the 26-man roster, right-handed pitcher Seth Johnson was optioned to Lehigh Valley.
It's Game 2 of the Phillies and Cubs series with the first pitch set for 6:45.
