The Phillies have been without five relievers expected to be a core part of their bullpen.  They are righties David Robertson, Tommy Hunter, Pat Neshek, Victor Arano and Edubray Ramos.   They've been lifted up by the re-emergence of Hector Neris and from stellar outs from the left side from Adam Morgan.  The Phillies will now be without their lefty.

The Phillies have announced that Morgan has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left forearm strain.  To replace Morgan on the roster, the club has recalled right-handed reliever Yacksel Rios.  The Phillies bullpen, who had four lefty options in Spring Training, will have only Jose Alvarez from the left side.

The Phillies have none of the aforementioned arms close to returning.

Morgan has been stellar for the Phillies in 2019.  Morgan is 2-1 with a 1.96 earned run average.  Morgan has struck out 18 in 18 1/3 innings.

Rios has been rather mediocre for the IronPigs at Triple-A.  In 17 games, Rios is 1-2 with a 4.79 earned run average.   Rios has 49 major league games under his belt, going 4-2 with a 6.09 earned run average.

The Phillies are running out of bullpen options, so hopefully newly-anointed reliever Vince Velasquez will help pick up some of the slack.
