Phillies Offense Fails In Atlanta while Eagles Fleece Commanders
The Philadelphia Phillies dropped two out of three games against the Atlanta Braves this week and are now 3-6 against their division rivals. The Braves, who now trail the Phillies in the National League by six games, are without half of their starters due to injury.
The Phillies top three hitters in the batting order went 2-33 in the 3 games in Atlanta! Schwarber, Turner, and Harper only knocked in two runs in the series. Two runs from the three guys making over 20 million dollars each.
The Phillies offense struck out 32 times in the series with the Braves, making fans remember how the 2022 Phils set the World Series record for most strikeouts in the series.
This year against the Atlanta Braves the Phillies have a -23 run differential in the nine games. Even though the Phillies pitching staff only allowed 8 runs during the 3 games in Atlanta, overall the starting Pitching staff ERA is 5.67 versus Atlanta this season. Let’s hope that this Phillies team doesn’t collapse like last year's Eagles, Sixers, and Flyers teams did to Philly Fans.
Howie Rosemen appears to have done it again. This time the Birds' General manager looks to have gotten the better of the Washington Commanders by acquiring Wide Receiver Jahan Dotson and a fifth-round pick in exchange for a third-round pick and two seventh-round picks. Dotson was the 16th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft and he played with below-average Quarterbacks for the last two seasons. We will have a lot to talk about this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.
On Saturday’s show, Mr, Everything Josh Hening and former Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Dave Klemic join me in the studio. We will look at the Phillies' power outage in Atlanta and discuss the Eagles acquiring Jahan Dotson from the Commanders. Saturday the Birds play their third and final preseason game against the Vikings. In Hour Two we will hear from Mr. Negadelphia P.J. Corda brought to you by Galloway Pool Service.
On Sunday’s show, Producer Danny Ryan joins me in the studio. We will talk Phillies baseball and go “On the Mound” with former Phillies Pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by Blitz's Market of Ocean City. Coming out of the bullpen for Tommy Greene is from the 2008 World Series Championship team, former Phillies relief pitcher Scott Eyre. Scott will talk about the Phillies road trip and preview Sunday’s game. Plus we will recap the Eagles' final preseason game
All that and more, this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim, tune in every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to Noon on 97.3 FM ESPN Radio South Jersey.
