The Phillies had dodged injury for much of 2022 through the first month.  But one of their regulars is hitting the injured list for the first time.  The Phillies announced that shortstop Didi Gregorius has been placed on the 10-day Injured List.  The cause is a left knee sprain.

To replace Gregorius on the roster, the Phillies recalled shortstop Bryson Stott from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.  After the emergence of Alec Bohm at third base, Stott returned to Triple-A to receive some daily playing time.  Stott figures to get some more of that in the major leagues.

In nine Triple-A games, Stott batted .333, while hitting two home runs, two doubles, and a triple  He drove in seven runs, while walking three times.   The result was an impressive .986 OPS.

Gregorius sat out on Thursday against the New York Mets to nurse the injury.   Gregorius has been productive for the Phillies in 2022, batting .288 with seven runs driven in in 59 at bats.

With Gregorius out, expect to see Johan Camargo get plenty of reps at short with Stott also an option. The switch-hitting Camargo is hitting .250 with two home runs on the season.
