The Phillies will be without slugger Rhys Hoskins for at least the next 10 days as he has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a ulnar collateral ligament issue.

Hoskins has been up-and-down in 2020 hitting just .245 with 10 home runs in 185 plate appearances.

The Phillies went with Phil Gosselin in his place today at first base.

Now some good news, catcher J.T. Realmuto has been diagnosed with a mild hip flexor strain and will just be out a few days.  21-year-old Rafael Marchan got the start behind the plate on Monday, making his Major League debut, going 1-for-3.

One configuration the Phillies could go with is using Realmuto at first base with Andrew Knapp behind the plate. They could also use Jay Bruce at first when he returns from his quad injury.

Pitcher Zack Wheeler appears to be closer to a return to the mound, he threw a bullpen session Monday. after ripping his fingernail while putting on his pants last week, forcing him to miss the Marlins series.  The Phillies are hoping to have him back for the series with the Mets.

The Phillies are currently the top team in the National League wild card race.
