Suárez pitched well in his last outing agaisnt Atlanta, when he pitched 6.2 innings, giving up four runs in a loss to the Braves.

Suárez has a 6-5 record with a 4.33 for the season in 15 starts.

He had won three of his past five starts after a slow start, he has pitched well after having a excellant 2021 season for Philadelphia.

The lefty was slotted to pitch on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals.

With the absence of Suárez, the Phillies face more questions in their starting rotation. Cristopher Sánchez will likely take his spot in the rotation, meaning two-fifths of the Philles rotation is now out. The 25-year-old left-hander has a 4.60 ERA in 15.2 innings for the Phillies this season.
