After a recent hot streak in which he is hit .364 with three RBI over his last five games with Lehigh Valley, the Phillies have recalled Dom Brown.

The 27-year old takes the place of Darin Ruf, who was sent down hitting .235 with three homers this season.

Meanwhile Brown, the former top prospect in baseball, missed the season of this season with left Achilles tendinitis. During his time in the minors, he hit .260 with just three home runs in 58 games split between Clearwater and Lehigh Valley.

Brown has been a major disappointment other than a month of all-star level play in 2013. In 430 career games Brown has 49 career home runs and 204 RBIs while hitting just .248.

With Brown in the picture now, that might indicate the Phillies are ready to deal Ben Revere.  The speedy outfielder has had his name in the rumor mill recently and with Brown back, the Phillies probably want to give him one last chance to prove he belongs.

With Cody Asche in left, Odubel Herrera in center and most likely Brown in left, Revere looks like the odd man out.
