Someone has to throw the ball for the Phillies.  The injury-depleted Philadelphia Phillies bullpen now has seven relievers on the disabled list: left-hander Adam Morgan and righties Seranthony Dominguez, Pat Neshek, Tommy Hunter, Victor Arano, Edubray Ramos and David Robertson.   The injuries have left the whole Phillies organization in need of help and the Phillies have added one arm.

Fernando Salas, an MLB veteran:

Salas was pitching in the Mexican league.

Salas has 493 major league appearances over nine seasons, Salas is a lifetime 25-28 with a 3.90 earned run average.  Salas has pitched in the majors for the Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels, and the St. Louis Cardinals.   Salas was 4-4 with a 4.50 earned run average in 41 appearances last year.

Should Salas demonstrate he has something left in the tank at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, it would not be out of the question to see Salas in Philadelphia at some point.
