Could the Philadelphia Phillies still have one big move up their sleeve?

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman from the New York Post, the Phillies are one of the teams interested in Toronto Blue Jays free agent shortstop Bo Bichette.

Heyman also lists the Yankees, Cubs, Dodgers, Red Sox, and Blue Jays as teams with interest in the outstanding shortstop, who would likely have to change positions in Philadelphia. The 27-year-old could be an option to play third base if the Phillies were able to move Alec Bohm or second base if they were interested in moving on from Bryon Stott.

Making the Money Work: Moving On From Realmuto and Bohm

How possible is a move like this?

Well, if the Phillies move on from J.T. Realmuto and Bohm, that could clear up some money to make a move for a player like Bichette, who can earn anywhere from $130 million to $240 million.

I have been advocating for the Phillies to move on from Realmuto and try to trade Bohm for whatever you can get, just to clear his salary and use those savings to get someone to hit in the middle of the lineup, behind Bryce Harper.

Bichette would fill that void.

Replacement Option Behind the Dish for Realmuto

As for a catcher to replace Realmuto?  How about Houston's Victor Caratini, who appeared in 114 games this season for the Astros, slashing .259/.324/.404 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI.

Another catching option would be Rafael Marchán, a switch hitter, who is a better defender than Caratini, but a lesser offensive player. Garrett Stubbs is another option, but his left-handed bat would be tough to play everyday, but is a fine backup option.
