The Philadelphia Flyers are on the brink of elimination against the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round of the NHL playoffs.  After losing 4-1 on Thursday night at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, the Flyers' backs are against the wall.

Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet said his team “got off to a good start” in the second period, but they took way too many penalties.  The Flyers had to kill nine power plays, surrendered two goals, and gave up a shorthanded goal. Oh yeah, can't forget the Flyers were out-shot 31-19.   Only 2% of the teams down 3-0 have ever come back to win the series. Game four is Saturday night.

The Sixers are also down two games to nothing against the New York Knicks.  Joel Embiid did not play in game two because of injury.  Isn’t that what the problem is with this 76ers team?  The Sixers return home for games 3-4, and hopefully, the New York fans won’t be able to invade the Xfinity Mobile Arena Friday night.  There is nothing worse than seeing our home court run over with Knicks fans.

The Phillies were crushed on Thursday night by the Athletics 12-1. Phillies rookie pitcher Andrew Painter did not have a good night, giving up 8 runs in 3.2 innings.  The Phillies are now 17-21 overall and welcome the Colorado Rockies to Philadelphia for the weekend

We will cover it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.
