Philadelphia 76ers Linked to Kevin Love as Offseason Roster Takes Shape

As the Philadelphia 76ers begin to focus on training camp, they could still be looking to add some talent to an already talented roster.

The team has already added Jaylen Brown in a trade with the Boston Celtics, which led them to add LeBron James to a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option in free agency. The team also agreed to a two-year, $12.3 million deal with free agent Anfernee Simons, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope signed a one-year contract with the 76ers.

However, they might not be done.

Adding Veteran Frontcourt Depth for the Bench

According to ESPN's Dave McMenimen, the team has been in touch with one of James' former teammates, Kevin Love, 37, who played 37 games with the Utah Jazz last season.

Love's agent, Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management, has been in touch with the Philadelphia 76ers' front office since James picked Philadelphia, sources told ESPN.

Love is still a pretty good 3-point shooter, connecting on .373 of his 3.8 attempts per game last season.  Overall, Love is a .369 shooter from behind the arc. Another thing Love would potentially add to the Sixers is some rebounding; he still grabbed 5.8 rebounds in 16.6 minutes per game last season.

Love gave the Jazz a solid veteran presence last season, averaging 6.7 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 37.3% from three.

Roster Adjustments Required to Finalize the Deal

If the Sixers were interested in adding Love, they would need to make a move to add him to their roster.
