HR Derby

Detroit Tigers 1B Prince Fielder won his second Home Run Derby last night in Kansas City.  He is the second player to win multiple times and the first to do so in both leagues.  Still, Todd Ranck believes the Derby is missing something as last night didnt have any luster to it besides the fact of Robinson Cano getting booed.  What would you add to the Home Run Derby to improve the event?

What song best describes this Phillies season?

Mike Gill was driving home last night and on the radio he heard Boyz II Men- End Of The Road and it got him thinking: that song describes this Phillies season perfectly.  Romance aside, Mike Gill knows the Phillies season is over but "he cant let go."  He says he knows it's the end for Shane Victorino come July 31st.  What song for you best describes this Phillies season?

Bob Cooney LIVE from Orlando

Philadelphia Daily News Sixers beat writer Bob Cooney called in LIVE from the NBA Summer League where the Sixers are taking part in.  The roster consists of 13 players including rookie first round pick Maurice Harkless and Nik Vucevic.  On Harkless: Cooney said he talked to former St. John's assistant head coach, Mike Dunlap, and he believes the Sixers got a steal at the 15th selection.  The Sixers are being very tight lipped about what other moves can be made this off-season, Sixers certainly need some help in the back court.  Bob Cooney covers the Sixers for the Philadelphia Daily News, follow him on Twitter.

Jim Salisbury on

CSN Philly Jim Salisbury called in and updated us on the status Cole Hamels and the negotiations with the Phillies.  Salisbury said sources have told him that the stumbling block remains length of contract.  If the Phillies don't want to go that extra year, the Phillies will have to seriously entertain trade offers.  The money is not much of an issue for the Phillies as the years are, according to Salisbury.  The MLB trade deadline is Tuesday, July 31st, follow Jim Salisbury on Twitter.
