Former Phillies left fielder, Andrew McCutchen, the 2013 N.L. MVP signed a free agent deal on Monday to join the Milwaukee Brewers.

McCutchen who played the past three seasons in Philadelphia hit 222 with 27 home runs and 87 RBI for the Phillies last season in 144 games.

With McCutchen gone the Phillies will have a new left fielder this season, and will likely have to sign one on the free agent market.  It has been reported that they have brought back center fielder Odubel Herrera, but allowed McCutchen to move on, meaning there is a void in left field.

McCutchen showed some solid power last season, blasting 27 home runs and might have been a DH option moving forward, but the team elected to bring Herrera back instead.

The 25-year old veteran was a solid locker room presence for the Phillies during his time in Philadelphia and should bring that to Milwaukee.
