Report: Bryce Harper “Stumping” Phillies to Sign Kris Bryant
Some of the biggest needs for the Phillies include adding a pair of outfielders and a middle of the lineup bat.
Kris Bryant could fill both of those roles and his friend Bryce Harper is "stumping" for the Phillies to add him to the club according to Jon Heyman of the MLB Network.
The two Las Vegas natives are good friends, so the push for the 29-year-old makes sense. Bryant offers positional versatility, with the ability to play left and center field, along with third base.
The 2016 N.L. MVP is a four-time All-Star, who hit .265 with 25 home runs, 73 RBI and 10 steals in 144 games while splitting time between the Cubs and Giants during the 2021 season.
The question is, at 30-years old, can Bryant still be a productive middle of the lineup bat that the Phillies so desperately need?
It sounds like Bryce Harper thinks so, and he was able to convince the front office to give catcher J.T. Realmuto a five-year, $115.5 million contract last offseason.
Can he get his Las Vegas buddy a deal this offseason?
