Report: Eagles have interest in speaking with Vance Joseph
Former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon had his introductory press conference on Thursday in Arizona. Gannon said he was unaware that he was a candidate for the job, until Howie Roseman told him after the Super Bowl on Sunday night.
Well with Gannon out the door, the Eagles are looking for his replacement and could look to Arizona to replace him.
According to veteran NFL reporter Josina Anderson, one name the team has requested an interview with his Cardinals defensive coordinator, Vance Joseph.
Joseph is still under contract with the Cardinals, but it is assumed that Gannon will take over the defensive play-calling.
Remember Joseph was the coordinator in 2019 and 2020 when Haason Reddick's played for the Cardinals. He had one sacks in 2019 and had 12.5 sacks in 2020 with Arizona during his time with Joseph as the coordinator.
Joseph has served as the Cardinals' defensive coordinator for the last four seasons, with his defense ranking in the top-15 in 2020 and 2021. This season, the Cardinals were the 31st ranked.
He was the head coach with the Denver Broncos for two season, from 2017-2018, going 11-21 over that span.
He was also the defensive coordinator in Miami in 2016.
