The Eagles are in search for a new head coach to replace Doug Pederson, and have apparently already made their first phone call.

According to Geoff Mosher of Inside The Birds and 'Football at Four' the Eagles have contacted University of Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley hours after firing Doug Pederson.

Replacing the only coach in franchise history to ever win a Super Bowl won't be easy, but Riley could be up to the challenge.  The 37-year old Riley replace the legendary Bob Stoops at Oklahoma and has a 45-8 record since taking over in 2017.

Riley apparently has a relationship with Howie Roseman and was also the college coach of Jalen Hurts, who the Eagles selected in the second-round of the 2020 draft.

He is also credited for working with Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray at Oklahoma.
