The Philadelphia Eagles will open the 2022 NFL season in Detroit against the Lions on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m., according to Eagles beat Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquire.

The game will be broadcast live on 97.3 ESPN with Merrill Reese and Mike Quick calling all the action.

The Eagles will also play on Christmas Eve in Dallas against the Cowboys at 4:25 p.m. per McLane.

It was announced earlier this week that the teams home opener would be in Week 2 on Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field at 8:30.

The Eagles in 2022 will host nine regular season games at Lincoln Financial Field, and eight road games this season.

The Eagles will be hosting their three NFC East divisional rivals, along with the Packers, Steelers, Jaguars, Titans, Saints and Vikings.   Their road trips include their NFC East rivals, Lions, Texans, Colts, Bears and Cardinals.

The full 2022 regular season schedule for the Eagles and the rest of the NFL will be released on Thursday, May 12.
