Report: Eagles WR A.J. Brown Avoids Serious Injury to Knee
It appears the Philadelphia Eagles are getting a bit of good news on Monday morning.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz of FOX, Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown avoided serious injury and is expected to be fine.
Brown left the game in the third quarter and did not return after catching two balls for 36 yards.
The team was leading 22-0 when brown went out, and the offense sputtered without him on the field.
"He's obviously one of our best players and we missed him out there," admitted Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. I thought DeVonta [Smith] did an unbelievable job in his absence. We have two go-to guys. DeVonta got more balls his way and he made some unreal plays."
Without Brown, DeVonta Smith picked up the offense, making a pair of big plays, including a highlight reel 26-yard touchdown catch to give the team a two-score lead.
"I think it just was a great overall effort from everyone," said Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Smitty trusting the ball to get to him and creating that separation, making a play, and then making another amazing play in the red zone."
Hopefully, the team can get Brown back soon so Smith won't have to shoulder the entire load in the passing game moving forward for Dallas this Sunday.
