Call it an over reaction, but the Flyers are looking to make moves.

According to a tweet from Tim Panaccio, the Flyers are talking with the Edmonton Oilers about a trade for star winger Jordan Eberle.

Eberle is a 23-year-old winger who had 34 goals for Edmonton in 2011-12 and is signed through 2018-19 season.

Panaccio later cautioned that the two teams are just talking and nothing could wind up coming about.

However, both teams are the near the basement of the NHL and a major shakeup could be in order.

Eberle carries a $6 million cap hit and any trade involving the right winger would have to be a blockbuster.

The Oilers are said to be lacking on the blue line and Braydon Coburn or Luke Schenn could fit their needs. Even a defensive minded forward like Sean Couturier could also fit that bill.

Schenn in particular has been a healthy scratch the last several games and appears to not have a place in Craig Berube's newly implemented offensive system.

The Flyers have 9 points on the year and are second to last place in the NHL.
