Four games in, the Flyers have had four injuries and one suspension.

It was announced today that defense man Andrej Meszároš will "miss about a month" with a shoulder injury he suffered Thursday night against the Rangers. In a corresponding move, the Flyers have recalled Andreas Lilja from the Adirondack Phantoms.

After suffering a torn Achilles last season, Meszároš was able to start the season on time as he has extra months of recovery time.

The injury came in the second period when the Rangers Ryan Callahan delivered a hit on the Flyers defense man, Meszároš skated off on his own power to the locker room and did not return to the game.

The Flyers defense is weak as is so general manager Paul Holmgren may be looking to fulfill Meszároš injury outside the organization.

Sportsnet of Toronto's Josh Rimer reported today that Holmgren has contacted Montreal about restricted free agent PK Subban. Rimer speculates that Sean Couturier would be included in any package for Subban.

Two other teams have also contacted the Canadians about Subban.

The Meszaros injury comes at a bad time as the Flyers lost Scott Hartnell to a foot injury for 4-8 weeks and star forward Danny Briere is still nursing an injured wrist suffered overseas during the lockout. Zac Rinaldo is also out with a lacerated thigh.
