Report: Houston Astros Turned Down Phillies Offer for Kyle Tucker
The Philadelphia Phillies must turn their attention to someone else in a trade with Kyle Tucker off the board.
The Houston Astros have traded left fielder Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for third baseman Isaac Paredes, right-handed pitcher Hayden Wesneski, and 2014 first-round pick Cam Smith.
According to reports from former MLB GM Jim Bowden, speaking on MLB Network Radio, the Phillies did make an offer for Tucker but Houston turned it down.
Per Bowden, the Phillies made an offer of Nick Castellanos and Alec Bohm for Tucker.
Per Bowden, the Astros didn't like Bohm defensively, and that could have been the reason they turned down the offer.
So now the Phillies will turn their attention to other areas to try and improve a roster that has come up short in the past three postseason.
One team that could be a match is the LA Angels per the Orange County Register’s Jeff Fletcher. Fletcher reported that the Angels spent the winter gauging the asking prices for third baseman, including Bohm, to replace Anthony Rendon.
