According to Phillies insider Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com the Orioles are "keeping an eye" on Ryan Howard this spring.

Howard came into Phillies camp looking as good as he has ever looked.  Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro said Friday that Howard showed up to camp in the best shape "since I've known him."

Howard, 35, said last week that he cut sugar from his diet over the winter and has lost 15-20 pounds.

The Phillies made no secret that they would like to move Howard and appeared willing to cover most of his contract in order to do so, but they haven't received any serious interest.

The 2006 National League MVP hit .223 with 23 home runs and 95 RBI in 2014.

The Phillies would almost certainly have to eat the majority of the $60 million still owed to him to make a deal but the amount of interest Baltimore has is unknown.  He could see part-time duty between DH and first base in Baltimore
