According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the Phillies have expressed interest in third baseman Josh Donaldson, who hit .259 with 37 home runs and 94 RBI last season on a one-year deal with Atlanta.

Third base is definitely a spot where the Phillies could use an upgrade to their everyday lineup, where Maikel Franco hit just .234 with 17 homers and 56 RBI through 123 games last season - Donaldson would represent a big upgrade to Franco, whose been a major disappointment.

Expect the Phillies to have competition for his services, with the Texas Rangers expressing interest, as well as the Braves, who have a desire to re-sign him as well.

Other third baseman the Phillies could target include, Mike Moustakas and Anthony Rendon, who are both free agents.
